the part at 06:13 when they get out of the car at the middle of the road and start dancing is sooo funny haha. the construction worker walks past and he gives this face like, ‘what the’! after watching this i didn’t think paris hilton is so bad, she seems to actually be a nice person?

and as pam would say it, i baoed the physics paper today. haha. like paper 1 was so totally screweded up. i didn’t even have enough time to finish the whole thing so at the last possible moment i ended up shading option c for all of the last 10 questions that i didn’t have time to fill in. well, the only consolation was that i found out i got 3 out of those 10 questions correct. yippie.

hmm halfway through prelims and already i’m so tired. i can’t even study properly after dinner because i get so tired and can’t focus. :( after ib i’ll start doing stuff again, like painting! watercolours and acrylic :D but i think my art skillz are non-existent now after years of non-use. :/ hmm what else. i’ll go to the beach more often! AND I’LL FINALLY WATCH RESERVOIR DOGS and all the movies in my to-do after ib list. and maybe i’ll learn how to cycle (somehow), and exercise more. like learn some martial art! i wanna learn boxing. haha. then next time if you go to big cities overseas you can learn to defend yourself when you’re mugged or something.

oh well. guess i’m planning too far ahead again. gotta work harder for prelims or i really cannot get into a uni. :(

p.s. the weather is so nice and cool now :D it’s a perfect day to be on the beach playing volleyball or drinking martinis. or something.

hmm just finished math tuition. BL and i were reliving our memories by listening to certain songs. it’s interesting how memories can be evoked by just one scent, one picture, one video, or in this case, one song. like the song above! haha oh man it was funny how it was my fave song but i had no idea who it was by or where it was from. that and naive too. because they both played on the radio at that time… which was almost 3 years ago? we were like “wow” for a while, like stunned, thinking about the days associated with those songs. ahh miss the sec 2 and 3 days. i was such a carefree and happy girl then. haha. i would take long bus rides home from nanyang everyday on 852, and then there was this once when this song came on, and i was passing the stretch of yiochukang road right before katib mrt; the road was framed with these trees whose canopies spread over on both sides to form a sort-of tunnel over the road, and i remember watching the dappled sunlight, which formed lace-like patterns on the roads, as the bus whizzed past, and with the strains of guitar from the earphones and the nice cozy temperature inside the bus, i thought to myself: all is right and well in the world. :) lol, but that was so long ago. i haven’t felt like that in so long. :/

oh right. where was i before i went down memory lane… i wanted to send the songs to BL’s phone, but then i realised she didn’t bring it. and she told me there’s something wrong with her phone, yet again, so now she’s stuck with one circa 2001, with no camera and bluetooth, only infrared. HAHA don’t worry you’ll get an awesome new phone soon too!

and during lunch band of brothers was on max, so i was trying to explain the concept of paratroopers and radars to my gran. which wasn’t so difficult, except for the fact i was trying to explain in dialect. i was trying to tell her how the us invented this jet that can evade radars, but in the end i gave up. haha. didn’t know the word for radar in shanghainese. then mom joined us and gave us the whole rundown of what happened at normandy beach. ’twas a blast from the past guys. i’m glad we aren’t embroiled in some war now. i rather 10 times of ib torture than singapore getting involved in a war haha. that’s how grateful i am.

hmm yesterday i met kk and omy to study at kap. well the plan was to study at the new starbucks near coro but it was filled with hwach people so, to no avail. study study all the way (which reminds me, ong ming yi is crazy. she mugged until she got a giant blister on her pinkie from too much friction because she wrote too much), and then vernon joined us and then we had dinner at this peranakan place. hmm the food was nice, but i made the mistake of saying that it looked unappetizing in front of the owner. whooooops. got death glares from kk and my. haha oh man. hm ming look slightly down though… cheer up babe it’ll tide over! don’t think so much and just do it, haha

oh yeah i saw A LOT of ac people. well, singapore is too small and there are only a few places the people from elite schools can go to study – i.e. KAP. what else. hmm oh kk insulted my thighs. she said they were fat and wobbling all over the place, WHAT THE. i was sad for a while. :( oh yeah what else… oh right, i went home and i got an upset stomach. guess peranakan food ain’t for me, haha.

my weekend was full of spending quality time with my bed, pigging out on cornetto royales, fervently praying that i’ll get a maya angelou extract for ioc (serious!), trying to figure out the gender ambiguity and undertones of the male-actor-dressed-as-a-female-dressed-as-a-man Viola-or-hould-i-say-Cesario in 12th night, enjoying a peaceful night in my hovel- i mean, room while the storm and tempest still outside, apologia pro eating seconds of stir-fried ricecake for dinner, while still having time to catch a tv movie. namely HOT FUZZ!

two words: it. was. epic! probably ranks up there in the list of most ridiculous movies that i’ve ever seen (but still love). somehow brit comedies are so much funnier than american ones. can’t remember the last time i’ve properly laughed (like clutching stomach, tears streaming down face laughed) at an american film. which reminds me, i caught a certain the animal on channel 5 on saturday. it was just… ew. surprisingly dad and bj were in fits over it, but i quickly switched the channel when they went off grocery shopping. i would use “disgusting” and “utterly revolting” to describe it but… well i don’t want to be sued, do i? :)

anw ioc in three days. i really hope i get caged bird!! i really love that book. yes so what if its black-mama-korean-drama, but at least it features female empowerment and not to mention it’s very inspirational! and colour purple too. at least they don’t portray women in a derogatory light, like miss julie (who’s a skank) or hedda gabler (she’s nuts) or medea (cold-blooded child-murderer). who else… mayber lear’s favourite daughters, regan (president with same name was assassinated) or goneril (named after an std… yikes). okay fine, those two i kid. :P

(if you’re male just skip the last bit, sorry. it’s nothing much, really)

love this song so much. i wanna watch 500 days of summer :)

and i was thinking how the universe is a metaphor for life. see, everyone’s a planet in this vast, inter-connected expanse of darkness. everyone’s held at an arm’s length of light years from each other, and the universe is at equilibrium, all the planets orbiting precariously within the status quo of gravity.

there’s you, you’re earth, you’re surrounded by the 7 other planets in the solar system.

there’s jupiter, the friend who you gravitate toward, the largest planet in the solar system.

there’s saturn, the friend you’d like to be closer to but can’t cuz he/she’s surrounded by a gazillion moons.

there’s neptune, the friend who’s always in a state of emotional flux, whose moods perpetually swing from stormy to acrid to lukewarm, just like the weather.

there’s venus and mars, the pair of friends who always seem to be at loggerheads but whom you know will get together eventually.

there’s mercury, the hot-headed friend who’s the closest to the fire, and who sticks up for you when you need it the most.

and then there’s the sun; that’s the most important person in your life. it keeps you warm, it keeps you alive. too close and it gets unbearably hot, because he’s just too bright to stare at for too long.

well. we hope for the best for asteroid belts to keep away, for the sun to stay sane and to keep the solar flares in, for the supernovas and black holes to remain at light-years’ distance away. so that the balance isn’t disrupted. sometimes i wish i were a star right up there in some far-flung and lonely galaxy, like one of those tiny stars that float around doing nothing but speeding on it’s orbit the whole day. but that’s kinda sad you know? being a star. cuz stars are so pretty yet they’re slowly dying from inside, that’s why they shine.

haha this post is so monumentally geeky and cheesy. whateverrr! btw guys remember to check out the song, you’re bound to fall in love with it. (too bad the band’s broken up; the lead singer has a real nice british accent)

here’s to 40 years since woodstock ‘69: possibly one of my most favourite songs ever in the world, Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. love the intro to bits and pieces! i wish i could invent a time machine just to go back to those three days and be a hippie for the weekend. and can you imagine? these people are probably the age of our parents. darn! what would i give to see hendrix live (my ib grades? hm…. PASS)

love peace and music sans the hating people. and of course no lsd, cuz drugs are bad for you

edit: and i just realised something! if hollywood is ever gonna make a jimi hendrix biopic, they MUST get will smith to act as him because they are just dead ringers for each other. especially from 00:38-00:45 seconds. it’s freakish, there are like doppelgangers
